Head Start Programs
The Office of Community Education offers two academic preparation programs – Head Start on Math and Head Start on Writing. The workshops are aimed at preparing incoming college freshmen with skills to take on college-level courses.
Courses
Head Start on Math
This program is for students who want to brush up on their math skills and learn about the college and its academic support resources. Head Start on Math gives students the opportunity to work on basic math skills and get a “head start” on preparedness for Basic Math (MATH 095) and Elementary Algebra (MATH 099). Students will be more confident navigating the campus and understanding the learning resources we offer.

Cost: $25
Students must submit a certificate of residence.
Head Start on Writing
A program for students who need to brush up on their writing skills and learn about campus resources. Students will have the opportunity to work with Writing and Research Center faculty on writing skills and get a “head start“ on being better prepared for English Composition I.
